Self Centering Brace - scb

The Self Centering Brace (SCB) curveis a uniaxial response curve modeling the behaviour of Self Centering Energy dissipating Braces. The model is described by Christopoulos et al. (2008). The SCB model resembles ordinary Flag-shaped models giving also the opportunity to incude two additional characteristics consisting of a non-recoverable slip of an external friction fuse available by the brace structure, and a steep increase of the stiffness of the brace at high deformations. In total seven parameters have to be defined for the model:

Initial Stiffness (K1)
The default value is 200 KN/mm

Post Yield Stiffness (K2)
The default value is 12 KN/mm

Activation Forceact)
The default value is 200 KN

Ratio of Forward to Reverse activation stress  (b)
The default value is 0.5

Slip strainslip)
The default value is 0mm

Strain at the start of stiffness increasehigh)
The default value is 300mm

Ratio of increased stiffness to initial stiffnesss  (r)
The default value is 1.5
