Bouc Wen Curve – Bouc_Wen

The Bouc_Wen curve follows the hysteresis model proposed by Bouc [1967] and modified by Wen [1976]. In total five marameters need to be defined for the model, including the Initial curve stiffness and the hardening ratio, parameter ηcontrolling the smoothness of the curve, parameter A which controls the hysteresis amplitude and parameters β and γ wich control the shape of the hysteresis curve.

Hardening ratio
The default value is 1200 KN/(m/s)0.4

Initial Stiffness (K)
The default value is 210 KN/m

Parameter η
Parameter controlling the transition from the linear to the non-linear behaviour. The higher the η the sharper the transition for linearity to non-linearity. The default value is 1

Parameter γ
Parameter determining the basic shape of hysteresis. The default value is 0.5

Parameter β
Parameter determining the basic shape of hysteresis. The default value is 0.5

Parameter A
Parameter controlling the hysteresis amplitude. The default value is 1
