  5. Changed the default value of the Maximum dt/T paramenter in the 'Program settings' dialog box
  6. Added links to the Video Tutorials and to the Discussion Forum both in the menu and in the toolbar
  7. Minor updates to Help System

2012-07-30, SeismoSignal v5 released

New features

  1. Increased the maximum allowed number of accelerogram data points from 2^15 (still the maximum for Fourier and Power spectra analysis) to 2^18, i.e. 262144 points
  2. Enabled the visualisation of Ground Motion Parameters for both unfiltered and filtered records
  3. Introduced possibility of users saving the computed spectra (in a format compatible with SeismoSpect and SeismoMatch)
  4. Introduced the possibility of using comma as decimal separator
  5. Created a user defined default directory for input accelerograms (as well as one for saving data)
  6. Introduced in the General Settings the possibility of disabling background shading of plots (useful for printing purposes)

Other minor updates

  1. Extended coverage of cases where user is advised to save the file in DOS/Windows text format before trying to open it in SeismoSignal
  2. Default decimal places changed to 5 (amongst other things, to facilitate reproduction of results when reopening and reprocessing saved records)
  3. Introduced in the Help System two additional references to publications discussing issues of record filtering, plus other minor changes
  4. Locked data copying and saving for unregistered users

Minor bug fixes

  1. The decimal places settings were not being applied to spectra data

2011-06-19, SeismoSignal v4.3.0 released

Minor updates

  1. Pop-up advice to users on what to do when academic license email cannot be sent
  2. Avoid false virus warnings (mainly Nod32), and incompatibilities with background monitoring software DeepFreeze
  3. Updated Help System to note that 'Total Duration' is used in the calculations of a number of ground motion parameters and also to clarify criteria employed in the computation of SMA and SMV
  4. Introduced Housner Intensity in the 'Ground Motion Parameters' module
  5. Changed default dT and minT valus to 0.1 seconds
  6. When reading an input file, consecutive values separated only by a "-" sign are now adequately recognised
  7. Corrected minor bug in the definition of maximum and minimum values for the vertical axis of time-history plots

2010-10-01, SeismoSignal v4.1.2 released

Minor updates to the registration and licensing modules. Corrected bug related to the occurence of a 'Range Check Error' when one sets the maximum period of interest to 9 seconds or higher and then activates the constant ductility inelastic spectra option.

2010-09-13, SeismoSignal v4.1 released

Updated Help System and software licensing facility introduced in the program. Minor changes in the terminology employed in the 'Elastic/Inelastic Response Spectra' module.

2010-01-01, SeismoSignal v4.0 released

New features

  1. Option in the Settings to define the number of decimal places used for the Ground Motion Parameters
  2. User-defined ductility convergence tolerance (for computation of inelastic constant-ductility spectra)
  3. Milli-g and micro-g acceleration units (for ambient vibration signal processing)
  4. Advanced spectra computation parameters moved into Program Settings menu
  5. Tabled 'Fourier phase' output

Minor bug fixes

  1. Some Ground Motion Parameters involving units (e.g. CAV, Vmax/Amax, etc) were not taking proper account of the actual units chosen by the user when he/she opened the accelerogram (e.g. a factor of ‘g’ was often missing)
  2. The units in the 'Response Time Histories' were always shown as "cm", independently of the units actually being employed
  3. The computation of 'effective duration' was not based on the absolute values of the Arias Intensity

2004-07-01, SeismoSignal v3.1 released

New features

Default filtering and baseline correction of loaded accelerograms has been removed (users will need to explicitly activate this functions, when so required).
