Exporting results
The vast majority of output results (e.g. displacement time-history, filtered signal, response spectrum, etc.) are made available to the user in both table and graphical formats, and can be manipulated, edited and formatted through a number of editing functions.
With regards to tabled data, this can be copied to any other Windows application (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.) by means of the copy command available through the program main menu (Edit > Copy Selection), through the respective toolbar button , through the table popup menu (available with the right-click mouse button) or through the keyboard shortcus (Ctrl+C). The user can select all the values in a table (Edit > Select All) or make use of the selection facility (using the Shift key or the mouse drag function) to select a limited number of table entries. Alternatively, the accelerograms time-history can also be exported into a text file through the Save Record Time Histories command, available from the File menu, or through the corresponding toolbar button
. When this option is triggered, a new window will be displayed which allows users to extract information such as acceleration, velocity or displacement time histories, either for the original and/or matched records.
Users can also copy, to an external Windows application, the plots of the results computed by SeismoMatch. This is accomplished through the program menu (Edit > Copy Chart), through the respective toolbar button , through the plot popup menu (available with the right-click mouse button) or through a keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Alt+C). Alternatively, these plots can also be printed directly from within the program, through the File > Print… command (users should make use of the preview facility, File > Print Preview…, to control the plot before sending it to the printer).
If a user is interested in visualising, and exporting, only a part of the plot, he/she can zoom in and out by selecting a specific area on the graph (a top-left to bottom-right selection zooms in, whereas a bottom-right to top-left selection zooms out) or by using the corresponding menu commands (View > Zoom In and View > Zoom Out).
Finally, the format characteristics of all SeismoMatch plots can be customised to the user's particular needs and likings, through the Tools > Plot Options , where items such as the background colour, the thickness/style of the line, the font size of the axes legends and plot titles, can all be adjusted to fit the preferences of the user.
Notes
- When copying data from SeismoMatch, users must make as many digital places visible as desired, otherwise, the values that are then pasted into the external application may not feature the desired precision.
- When saving a filtered/baseline-corrected accelerogram, the use of a relatively large number of decimal places is recommended if such record is then going to be reloaded and processed (otherwise rounding-off during the integration operations may lead to different velocity and displacement time-histories).
