Getting Started

In the introductory window of the FRP Designer (Select Type of Strengthening, Structural Code and Units Window) the user needs to select the main parameters to be used during the FRP strengthening procedure namely:

1. Whether the existing member will be a column or a beam
2. The type of action against which the strengthening will be carried out, the available actions are bending and shear
3. The structural code to be used for the capacity calculations. For strengthening against Bending the available codes are: the fib 90\EC8, the ACI 440\ACI 318 and the CNRT-DT 200\NTC-18. For strengthening against Shear the available codes are Eurocode 8 (Part 3), the ACI 440\ACI 318 and the CNRT-DT 200\NTC-18
4. The units to be used during the calculations. The available types of Units are the SI and the English Units.
5. The rebar typology including European sizes and US sizes.
